9/28/24 Meeting Log By Nalin, Krish, Elias, Anuhya, Sol, Fernando, Jai, and Aarav

Task: Make Progress in Prepreation for the Early Qualifier

Today, the team made substantial progress both in building and portfolio development. We began working on the Ideas Festival page (previously known as Robot in Two Days) and brainstormed fresh ideas to enhance our portfolio. We also engaged with new team members about outreach strategies and portfolio improvements. To boost our presence, a new Instagram post was created, and we plan to expand our social media presence further.

On the code and build side, we tackled several key improvements. We started with the Limelight camera, diving into color blob detection for better visual tracking. A new attachment was added to ensure the linear slide stays perfectly parallel, and modifications were made to reinforce the structure and prevent it from getting caught. The failed 3D-printed bridge connection point was also adjusted, and some unnecessary parts, including the skyhook motors, were removed to streamline the design.

We worked on suspending the linear slide and participated in an Iron Core meeting to share insights. On the design front, we brainstormed ideas for a new roller claw but may initially focus on simpler sample gathering methods.

In terms of teaching, we continued with Java basics, controlling drive speed, and servo operations. I also started coding autonomous routines and developing an intake/outtake system.
