Task: Refine Intake for the Early Qualifier
This week, the team made significant progress on multiple fronts. On the portfolio side, members worked on slides focusing on team organization, financial management, and sustainability of skills. Jewelry project images were organized and refined, and an Instagram post was prepared for the Jewelry. Additionally, an earring order form and website layout were created to expand our online presence.
The build team mainly made structural improvements. TPU slabs were melted and shaped to replace the tape hinges on 3D-printed parts, providing a more robust solution. Adjustments to the linear slide included redesigning the bridge for better stability. This redesign allowed the control string to split across two spools mounted on a single axle, enhancing the “crane” rotation’s functionality. A motor was attached, and initial coding was set up to control the crane's movement.
In development, members worked on the belted beater bar, redesigned rollers, and initiated a polycarbonate version for better durability. A deflector holder and color sensor mount were added, alongside ideation for a “door” on the beater bar. Meanwhile, the sister teams received training on basic drive, codebase structure, and robot-opmode interactions, positioning them for independent learning through trial and error.
