Task: Build and CAD Progress for Meet 1
Today, we experimented with a potential lift mechanism, refining ideas to improve its functionality and stability. Additionally, we worked on upgrading an older swerve drive module so it can meet the latest requirements of our design.
A big milestone was achieved with our new joint for the robot’s elbow, which we call the "Axle Oreo." The team retrieved parts, assembled the joint, and tested its fit within the existing framework. A future plan with this part of the robot is to create a system that will relieve some load off lifting the elbow from the servo with the use of string. We also dedicated time to small but essential details, such as sorting screws and creating a mount for the color sensor on the intake mechanism, which will improve detection accuracy and response time.
On the digital side, we created spatial models to help visualize our designs, and we made social media updates.
